This year marks a special milestone for the D&L.
Thirty years ago, a group of thoughtful and committed citizens took the region’s case for national historic significance to Congress. The result is the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.
On June 2, we will gather the Heroes, Geniuses and Leaders of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor for an epic 30th Anniversary celebration at Hugh Moore Park in Easton. This is one homecoming you won’t want to miss.
The daytime portion of the event will include live music, “mule selfies,” rides on the Josiah White II canal boat, and more! Please note: Admission fees will apply for the boat rides and entry to the National Canal Museum.
The evening portion of Founder’s Day is a ticketed event and will include regional food and drink, “mule selfies,” a “Then & Now” photography retrospective, dinner gala, silent auction, and a live music performance by Craig Thatcher and Nyke Van Wyk!
Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on more than 30 unique items during the silent auction. Among the items up for bid are:
- “Passport to Adventure” gift basket from Pocono Whitewater Rafting
- Family four-pack of tickets to Lehigh Valley Zoo
- Original D&L-themed artwork
- Custom handcrafted jewelry
- And more!
June 2 will also mark the season opening of the National Canal Museum, as well as 2018 National Trails Day.
Then join us on Sunday, June 3, for our Bike to Brunch event! We encourage participants to leave their vehicles at home that day, or at a local D&L Trailhead, and bike to Hugh Moore Park in Easton for brunch and a ride on the mule-drawn Josiah White II canal boat. Choose your own distance and start wherever you would like! Please note: This is not a D&L staff-led ride. Tickets for Bike to Brunch cost $30. Price of the ticket includes brunch, one (1) canal boat ride, and admission to the National Canal Museum that day.
