Fall activities abound, Spooky Season Celebrations are ready to greet you, and the D&L Staff is excited to share their favorites! Whether you haven’t figured out your Halloween Plans yet, or you’re looking for an opportunity to extend your fall celebration, read on!

Seiple Farms – 5761 Nor Bath Blvd, Bath PA

Executive Director Claire Sadler and her family recommend exploring all the fall activities available at Seiple Farms! This year, their famous Corn Maze features an elaborate design honoring First Responders. Once you escape the maze, enjoy meeting the friendly farm animals, enjoy a pony ride, or take a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect jack-o-lantern. Once you’re done exploring, there’s food for everyone, a gift shop, vendors, and so much more!

Grim’s Orchard & Family Farms – 9875 Schantz Rd, Breinigsville, PA 18031

The Fall Festival at Grim’s Orchard popped up as a favorite among staff members, including Executive Assistant Loretta Susen, who always enjoys baking apple-based treats after an afternoon at the pick-your-own orchard. Open through October 31, pick over 20 varieties of apples or choose your own pumpkins. Wander the corn maze, take fall photos with the family, and check out the games and activities. On your way out, pick up tasty treats like apple cider donuts, apple cider slushies, kettle corn, caramel apples, pies and dumplings, jellies – along with pumpkins, gourds, mums, and other fall decorations!

Trauger’s Farm Market – Route 611 and Island Road, Kintnersville, PA 18930

Another favorite among the staff, suggested by Trail & Stewardship Manager Liz Rosencrans, Trauger’s Farm Market sits right along the Delaware Canal and Towpath. Pick up fresh, homemade kettle corn, pick pumpkins, and snag a fall selfie by the sunflowers. Check out their list of fall activities throughout the month of October – and you can even pre-order online from their extensive list of in-store products!

Walnutsport Canal Festival

An “honorable mention” of sorts because, unfortunately, this year’s festival has passed us by – but Historian Martha Capwell Fox highly recommends checking out next year’s Walnutsport Canal Festival. With good food and fun music, the festival offers something for everyone along a beautiful section of the Canal, and a fully-restored original Locktender’s house!

D&L Half Marathon

If you’re looking for an incredible way to experience the fall leaf colors and sound of crunching leaves along the trail, look no further than the D&L Half Marathon!  D&L Staff always looks forward to working with the great volunteers and being part of the wonderful camaraderie that takes place even during the race-time competition.

Halloween Picks!

Historic Yardley’s Canal-O-Ween. October 31 – November 6

Beginning with the Carve-O-Thon™ on Halloween morning (October 31st from noon to 3pm), Yardley’s Canal-O-Ween is an annual week-long traditional-style lighting of Jack-O-Lanterns. Whether you carve your own pumpkin to add to the display, or enjoy wandering a quarter-mile of the Delaware Canal Towpath lined with flickering Jack-o-Lanterns, Canal-O-Ween is a an old-fashioned, low-tech, magical way to celebrate Halloween with friends and family.

After you’re done admiring the Jack-o-Lantern Stroll, visit historic Yardley and enjoy dinner and drinks or some shopping. Visit experienceyardley.com/canal-o-ween for more details!

Easton Out Loud – Trick or Treat Edition: 5pm – 9 pm, October 22. Downtown Easton

Easton Out Loud, presented by Highmark, will welcome families to walk around Downtown Easton in costume. Kids can trick or treat at participating shops. Visitors should pick up a passport at the Info Booth in Centre Square – get it stamped at 7+ shops and return it for a chance to win the quarterly Easton Out Loud prize drawing. Pumpkins & Pooches at Easton Farmers’ Market: 9am – 1pm, October 30. Scott Park, Larry Holmes Drive, Easton.

Easton Farmers’ Market, presented by Capital Blue, will host a new event celebrating all things fall. Families can participate in pumpkin painting and pumpkin crafts (9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and trick-or-treat at vendor tents. Pups (and their masters) can wear their best Halloween attire and be part of a costume parade at 11:30 a.m. (Register at the Merch Tent – in advance starting Oct. 16, or on site day of parade). Prizes will be awarded for cutest, most glamorous, handsomest, funniest and best dog and owner duo. Eerie Easton Walking Tours: 6:30pm & 7:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays in October. Sigal Museum, Easton

Join the Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society for a tour retelling tales of murder, mischief, and misadventure in the Downtown Easton Historic District.  Learn about the witches of Hexenkopf Hill, restless Revolutionary War spirits, strange coincidences, and disastrous journeys. Haunted Canal Boat Rides – National Canal Museum, Friday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30
2 rides each night – 5:30 pm & 6:45 pm

Are you brave enough to ride our mule-drawn canal boat at night?  Join the National Canal Museum and the Bachmann Players for a spooky, one-hour cruise along the Lehigh Canal.  Along the way, spirits from the canal’s past will awaken and tell of their demise.  The ride is family-friendly but perhaps not appropriate for very little ones or those easily scared.  Guests will be greeted with light refreshments, including hot apple cider, that they can take on board.

Kids on the Canal: Trick or Treat at the National Canal Museum: 11:30am – 4:30pm, Sunday October 31

Join us at the National Canal Museum for a safe and educational Trick or Treat event in Hugh Moore Park. Six spooky spots will be set up in outdoor locations around the park, and kids will learn historical trivia to earn yummy treats at each. Complete the whole trail to win a Halloween rubber ducky to race in the museum’s water table and take home. There will be creepy crafts and games on the museum portico too.  Costumes are highly encouraged. Trick or Treat activities are included with admission.  Pumpkin decorating will also be available for an additional cost of $5.

Join the Lansford Special Events Committee for this fun, family-friendly Haunted Halloween event, featuring trick-or-treating, a children’s costume, games, music, and a haunted hayride and corn maze.

A Paranormal Panther Valley Evening: 6pm & 7pm, October 30, Lansford Historical Society

The Lansford Historical Society presents a paranormal evening, with VIP and Basic ticketed tours, featuring the GAR Cemetery, Old Welsh Church, and Hauto Tunnel. Contact the Historical Society at 570-617-4683 for more details.
