By Brian Greene, Trail Programs Manager
In the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor we are best known for the D&L Trail, which acts as the spine that connects the entire area. But there are many other great trails in our five county area including water trails (the Lehigh and Delaware River), hiking trails (Appalachian Trail, Hickory Run State Park), and biking trails (Ironton, Walnutport Canal Spur, Saucon Rail Trail).
Likewise, when I say L.L. Bean you might think of the iconic boots and clothing, but like the Corridor, L.L. Bean has much more to offer for trail users. From paddling to biking to running, L.L. Bean is your one stop shop to get all the gear that you need for trails. Their local shop in Center Valley has the experts and the gear to get you ready for any type of adventure.
Another great part about L.L. Bean is that they have paid programs with their Outdoor Discovery Schools that can help you learn about everything from hiking and paddling outings on local trails and waterways to outdoor yoga, fly-fishing, and more. These programs are great for people looking to learn more about a new sport or try out some new gear before going all in on a new hobby. L.L.Bean’s Outdoor Discovery School also offers programs that are free for anyone to enjoy. These include Clinics offered in-store, which teach basic skills like bike maintenance, shares tips on how to enjoy outdoor adventures with your dog, and highlights the latest outdoor activities like hammock camping.
L.L. Bean is also a sponsor of the Delaware & Lehigh Heritage Half Marathon. So join us on Nov.4th for a walk or run along the D&L Trail!
