THE LINK Trail Network Coalition Releases New Bicycling Resource

Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor Inc. (DLNHC), in partnership with CAT–Coalition for Appropriate Transportation, has launched a new educational resource for residents and visitors interested in biking THE LINK, the Lehigh Valley’s multiuse trail network.

THE LINK is an interconnected 125‑mile network of multiuse trails that supports year‑round outdoor recreation, alternative transportation and healthy living. DLNHC, CAT and a broad coalition of partners — including local nonprofits and municipalities — work together to advance trail connectivity, amenities and programming throughout the network.

The new resource is designed to remove common barriers to biking on THE LINK by addressing frequently asked questions related to bike selection, maintenance, adjustment, packing and riding. The information is delivered through a series of short, entertaining and educational videos created in collaboration with CAT.

In celebration of National Bike Month, DLNHC will release two videos per week from May 1 through June 1 on THE LINK’s social media channels. The full eight‑video series will also be available online at delawareandlehigh.org/explore-the-corridor/plan-your-trip/biking-resources.

CAT’s trusted role in the Lehigh Valley bicycling community made the partnership a natural fit, with the video series tailored to both experienced riders and those new to biking on multiuse trails.

“There is value in seeing ride leaders from our own community share practical tips along local Lehigh Valley trails,” said Brit Kondravy, conservation manager for DLNHC. “We’re thrilled that CAT and George Wacker of Lehigh Valley With Love helped create an accessible resource that builds rider confidence and comfort.”

“At Lehigh Valley with Love Media, we love telling stories that help people connect with the places, organizations, and resources that make this region special. These videos were created to make biking on local trails feel more approachable, familiar, and fun, while helping more people feel confident getting out, riding safely, and enjoying THE LINK Trail Network.” George Wacker, owner, Lehigh Valley with Love Media

Topics covered in the series include bike safety checks, gear basics, carrying items comfortably, understanding bike types, proper bike fit, trail rules and etiquette, and planning bike trips across eastern Pennsylvania.

CAT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting bicycling, walking and public transportation in the Lehigh Valley.

Those interested in putting their new skills into practice are invited to join DLNHC and CAT on May 14 for Bethlehem Bike2Work with CAT. More information is available at tailonthetrail.org/events/bethlehem-bike2work-with-cat.
