Exercise. It improves our overall health and lowers rates of obesity. But did you know that exercise outdoors along a nature trail (rather than indoors) is even more effective in improving cardiovascular and mental health? Through outdoor recreation opportunities and health and wellness programming, the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC) connects people with opportunities to improve their overall health.
The D&L Trail currently offers 144 miles of open and improved trail perfect for walks, runs, and rides of any distance. Whether that’s a long haul ride while bike camping or a stroll with your pet or loved one, the D&L trail strives to always be a safe environment for everyone to get moving.
Created in 2013 by St. Luke’s University Health Network (St. Luke’s) and DLNHC in eastern Pennsylvania, Get Your Tail on the Trail is a free program aimed at helping people of all ages and abilities meet their personal fitness goals and experience the outdoors on local trails via day-to-day challenges, public events, and motivating prizes.
