Help us bring history to life for local schoolchildren by joining our team as a field‑trip educator!
Each spring, the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC) welcomes more than 2,500 third–fifth graders to our Immersion Days program at the National Canal Museum.
Set along the Lehigh Canal in beautiful Hugh Moore Park, Immersion Days gives students a hands‑on look at how people lived and worked on the canals in the 19th and early 20th centuries—including a ride on our mule‑drawn canal boat. Educators lead fun, interactive activities that blend history with STEM concepts.
As an educator, you might teach students how to blow a conch shell horn or demonstrate how simple machines make work easier. With a variety of activity stations, you can choose to specialize in one or learn several.
DLNHC is seeking dependable, enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children, feel comfortable speaking to groups, and don’t mind spending the day outdoors. No prior experience or subject knowledge is required—just a willingness to learn and up‑to‑date child abuse and criminal history clearances. Period‑appropriate clothing is provided for all educators.
This position is subject to child abuse/criminal history clearances.
