Haunted Hugh Moore Park is back for a Frightfully Fun Fourth Year!  – Join Us for the Event or Volunteer with Us!

We invite you to join us for our family-friendly Halloween event “Haunted Hugh Moore Park,” which features a spooktacular ride on the Josiah White II canal boat, lots of Halloween activities, and a boo-tiful ghost walk to the Locktender’s house with ghost stories that scream fun!

This ghoulish event returns for a fourth year on October 20, 21, 27 and 28 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The evening of spookery in the park starts off with guests taking a twilight canal boat ride along historic Section 8 of the Lehigh Canal drawn by our two mules, Hank and George. After the canal boat ride, guests will take a spooky walk from the National Canal Museum to the locktender’s house next to the Chain Dam, encountering ghostly presences along the way. Other experiences include a bonfire, pumpkin hunt, a hayride, and viewings of classic horror films. New this year is a rock painting activity, where guests will be encouraged to decorate a rock and then hide it for someone else to find.  The rocks can be tracked using the hashtag #HauntedHMP.  Ghostly goodies and hot apple cider will also be served.

Participation is by reservation only; each night is limited to 80 people. Participants are asked to arrive in the park by 6 p.m. and be aboard the Josiah White II canal boat at 6:15 p.m. Activities conclude at 9 p.m. The cost is $15 per person.

Reservations for “Haunted Hugh Moore Park” are on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are sold online. For more information, call Loretta Susen at 610-923-3548 x221.

If you want to volunteer for this fun event instead, assistance is needed with serving refreshments, craft activities, set up and clean up, and generally ensuring that visitors have a spooktacular time. We even need someone to be our mule mascot, Della!

We will need volunteers to help from 5:30 p.m. until around 9:30 p.m. If you are interested and can help on one or more nights, please contact Daphne Mayer at 610-923-3548 x246 or [email protected].

Happy Fall! Happy Halloween!
