Delaware & Lehigh - 5 Ways to Get Involved with the D&L Heritage Half Marathon
Share

Miranda Alvarez, Community Engagement Manager

The race is only a few days away. There’s still time to get involved with the D&L Heritage Half Marathon. From running to cheering, we need you to help us make this our best year, yet! This is the D&L’s largest fundraiser. All proceeds from registration help us live out our mission of connecting the trail and connecting people to industrial heritage, health and wellness, economic development, and nature and the environment in this five county corridor.

1. Register

Registration for the 2019 D&L Heritage Half Marathon closes at 11:59 on October 30. That means there is still time to hit the trail with hundreds of walkers and runners at one of the friendliest half marathons. Register, here.

2. Volunteer With Us

So you’re not much of a long distance runner or walker, there’s still fun for you! We need volunteers for every aspect of race day operations. Hand out water at a hydration station, help set up the course, or put on your best smile to welcome participants and bib pick up. Sign up to volunteer, here.

3. Cheer on Runners/Walkers

Completing a marathon is no small thing. Decorate a poster board, grab you pom poms and cheer on our participants along the trail. All are welcome to watch, whether you live right along the trail or have a loved one participating. Your support will give our participants a boost. Check out the race course.

4. Tell a Friend

Know someone who might want to participate, volunteer, or learn more about the event? Share race details with your network. Our next volunteer, walker, or runner might just be your best friend!

5. Share Your Story

Last, but not least, whether you have already signed up or have participated in the past as walker, runner, volunteer, or even as someone who lives by the course, we would love to learn about your memories and experience. Tag us in a post or message us on Facebook (@DLHeritageHalf) to share your story.
