by Mandy Tolino, D&L Trails & Conservation Director
I am filled with joy and anticipation as the holidays inch closer and I feel the sense of renewal that a new year brings. As the new Director of Trails and Conservation I recently visited the Black Diamond and Bristol Lagoon trailheads on the opposite ends of the 165-mile D&L trail, each beautiful and peaceful in different ways. I can’t wait to connect the dots and engage with the unique communities and trail users in between!
In November, with the help of over 80 volunteers, the D&L hosted a successful half marathon for runners and competitive walkers along the scenic D&L from Slatington to Northampton.
689 participants completed the race and over $35,000 was raised to directly support the D&L National Heritage Corridor. Mark your calendars for November 6th, 2022 to run or walk the only race on the D&L trail that directly supports the D&L Trail.
During the holiday season of joy and generosity, we hope you will consider supporting the D&L’s annual fund to directly support our mission to connect the trail and preserve the history of the 165-mile route between Wilkes-Barre and Bristol. We are grateful and humbled by your support and hope that you have a wonderful holiday.
