Blog Post By: Danielle Wolfrum, D&L Advancement Officer
As the 2016 season is wrapping up, there is so much to reflect on and celebrate.
June was membership month at the D&L and we successfully cultivated many new members who are passionate about the trail, the National Canal Museum and the economic impact we have in our communities.
We expressed our thanks to existing members and held four free member only events including two bike rides, a canal boat ride and a preview to the popular exhibition “Dixie: Easton’s Cup of Health and Happiness.”
Please save the date and plan to attend a “For Your Eyes Only” event on December 3, 2016. Organized by Collections Manager Martha Capwell Fox, this exhibition will showcase special artifacts from our collection that have never been seen by the public before.
We also invite you to please consider the D&L in your end-of-year giving plans. There are many ways to support us, including joining or renewing your membership, donating, and volunteering.
Your investment in the D&L allows us to: work to connect the D&L Trail by 2020, fund educational programs that teach our children appreciation for our regional heritage, as well as the principals of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); and sustain the National Canal Museum and the Josiah White II, Pennsylvania’s only mule-drawn canal boat ride.
Without you, our work would not be possible .
