The Starners are now the proud owners of a Specialized Crosstrail Bike, courtesy of Dn’A Bikes in Tamaqua.
The couple are not only D&L Heritage Half Marathon participants, but volunteers as well! Janet and Jed walk, run, and bike the D&L Trail on a regular basis and use the trail exclusively to train for the Half Marathon. Despite having to sit out the 2014 Half Marathon due to injuries, the Starners have participated in every Half Marathon since its inception and are looking forward to this year’s event on Sunday, Nov. 4.
Their support for the D&L Corridor stretches beyond the trail; they regularly take weekly yoga classes at Lehigh Gap Nature Center in Slatington. “We generally find the D&L and environments to be a magical and beautiful public space,” Janet Starner said in an email. “We feel lucky enough to live close enough that we can enjoy it regularly; it’s our happy place.”
