To mitigate the increasing spread of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, we have closed the National Canal Museum and offices of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. Our staff continues our mission-driven work from home. We hope you and yours will stay safe and healthy. Happy Trails!×
Today is #GivingTuesday – a day dedicated to giving throughout the world. How will you give back? By volunteering? Becoming a member? Donating?
There are countless ways to support the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor! Join the movement today! Last year, 98 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, this global day of giving has inspired giving around the world, resulting in more donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities.
If you want to help connect the D&L, consider donating $50, $100 or more to preserve the history and culture of our Heritage Corridor. Your generous gift will allow the D&L to:
• Connect the 165-mile D&L Trail by 2020;
• Teach our children appreciation for our nationally significant regional heritage while demonstrating the principals of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); and
• Support the National Canal Museum and the Josiah White II, Pennsylvania’s only mule-drawn canal boat ride.
To donate visit the “Ways to Give” page on our website. You can also call our Advancement Office at 610-923-3548 x 238.
“My husband and I live very close to the Bethlehem Sand Island D&L Trailhead. We run the trail often, and want future generations to experience the same beauty and experience we do every time we run. We love volunteering to help preserve the trail. Every time we give back whether through volunteering or donating, we are helping to preserve history and that is something very special to us!”
