As fall finds its way to the D&L Trail, it’s tempting to run or walk just a bit further than usual. If you are searching for a new challenge this fall, consider registering for the D&L Heritage Half Marathon Run or Walk. Cooler temperatures, colorful foliage and the fast, flat surface of the trail make the D&L Heritage Half the region’s most scenic half marathon. The course begins at Northern Lehigh High School, where it quickly winds through the streets of Slatington to the Slate Heritage Trail and continues on to the D&L Trail.
We could tell you about how the 204-foot net elevation drop, probable tailwind and awesome amenities set the D&L Heritage Half apart from other Lehigh Valley half marathons, but what really sets it apart are the people who make it happen. Our committee, led by Race Director, Ed Eppler and our race volunteers are always working to ensure that runners and walkers have the best race experience possible. A focus on participant experience is what motivated the committee to reverse the course last year and move the finish line closer to the post-race party this year.
If you’re a veteran walker or runner who will be joining us again this year, thank you! We hope you’ll see that we take your feedback seriously. If you’ve registered for your first D&L Heritage Half, we’ll see you on November 6!
Registration is now closed and we sold out! Thanks for your support!
