The 2022 Eastern PA Greenways & Trail Summit will occur Tuesday and Wednesday, September 27 and 28, 2022 at the State Theater in Easton PA.

Our planning committee welcomes all who are involved in planning, designing, constructing, maintaining, promoting, and using trails and greenways in eastern Pennsylvania and beyond!

Donors welcome.  All donors will have their company name listed in the Trail Summit program and on the Donor Thank You sign at registration.  2022 EPGTS Donation Form

Monday, September 26th – Recreation Activities
*Pre-registration required

9am – 2pm         Maintenance of Trails & Greenways – located at Louise W. Moore County Park

  • Hosted by Stihl, Penn State Extension and Northampton County Parks & Recreation – exhibit and training on tree maintenance, pruning and identification.  Additional cost of $75 applies for this event through a separate site.

9:30am – 1:00pm   Biking Tour – located at D&L Trail – City of Allentown, Bethlehem & Easton

  • Hosted by D&L National Heritage Corridor – exhibit and training on developing a regional greenway/trail, connections to downtowns, tourism and economic development based around trails

1pm – 3pm       Land & Water Accessible Tour – located at Minsi Lake

  • Hosted by Friends of Minsi Lake, Northampton County Parks & Recreation and Lehigh Valley Center of Independent Living – exhibit and training in accessible fishing, canoeing and kayaking access

1pm – 3:30pm   Walking Tour – located at Covered Bridge Park / Jordan Creek Greenway

  • Hosted by South Whitehall Township – exhibit and training on developing a regional greenway/trail, park and playground enhancements, boardwalks, Frisbee golf course and environmental restoration

2pm – 4pm            Mountain Biking Tour – located at Trexler Nature Preserve

  • Join Valley Mountain Bikers for a guided ride on the VMB built trails at Trexler Nature Preserve. The trails have no rocks and ride very fast, with some rollers built into the trails. This trail is intended for intermediate and advanced riders. Meeting location is the North Range Utility Road off of Mill Creek Road in Schnecksville, 18078. 40.66462088925748, -75.63370263321899.

6pm                       Networking Event – Two Rivers Brewery

Tuesday Evening Social Event: Drinks & light refreshments at Nurture Nature Center, 518 Northampton St, Easton, PA 18042 (registration required)

Tuesday, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm  – Enjoy opportunities to explore the Nurture Nature Center’s Science on a Sphere® (SOS) exhibit, developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, features breath-taking visualizations of earth and space science and is a centerpiece of NNC’s visitor area, local artwork and enjoy drinks and light refreshments.

Mobile Workshops, Wednesday 12:00 – 5:00 pm
Mobile Workshop 1: D&L Trail Corridor (registration required for bus transportation)

Explore the newly constructed and opened sections of the D&L Trail within Northampton and Lehigh Counties.  Participants will walk approximately 1 mile from Northampton and North Catasauqua boroughs along the Lehigh River, pass active construction in Catasauqua and Hanover Township and see how these historic Boroughs are revitalizing their downtowns around the D&L Trail and September 11th National Memorial Trail corridors.

Mobile Workshop 2: Two Rivers Trail Corridor (registration required for bus transporation)

Explore how multi-municipal planning, environmental restorations and development is playing a direct link into the 18-mile Two Rivers Area Trail, Northern Tier Trail, and September 11th National Memorial Trail corridors.  Participants will stop at a few locations in Bushkill and Plainfield Townships and the Borough of Stockertown. Participants will walk approximately 2 miles in the Ballas Meadow Preserve and the Bushkill Township Recreation Trail.
