The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor invites its members and special supporters to a
sneak peek at our National Canal Museum’s new exhibit, Beyond Rosie & Rivets: Industrial Women of
the D&L Corridor.
This exhibition will highlight the work of women employed in some of our region’s iconic industries: steel, silk, cigar-making, needle trades, and transistors. We will celebrate the women who stepped up into defense work in our region’s heavy industries in wartime, the young girls who spun and wove silk into a world-leading industry in the early 20th century, the seamstresses who clothed the country, and the mathematicians and engineers who broke gender barriers during the second half of the 20th century.
When: Friday, April 1, 4:30-6:30pm
Where: D&L headquarters at the
National Canal Museum, 2750 Hugh Moore Park Road, Easton, PA 18042
Why: Catch up with the D&L for a casual wine and cheese event, and view the new special exhibit, Beyond Rosie & Rivets: Industrial Women of the D&L Corridor
