Join the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC) for the first annual State of the D&L Trail Address. Join us virtually to learn about trail updates, upcoming volunteer opportunities and programs the DLNHC offers. Participants can submit questions in advance as a Facebook message, or via online form. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been on the D&L Trail hundreds of times, or are new to the trail, this presentation will provide the information to help guide trip planning, and highlight ways you can get involved.
Presentation Agenda
*What is the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor? Claire Sadler, Executive Director, will provide an overview of the organization, introduce staff and board members, highlight upcoming events and discuss how the D&L Trail is the spine for many local trails as well as an integral part of the regional trail network.
Tell me more about the Trail! Liz Rosencrans, Trail and Stewardship Manager, will discuss trail projects in each county, including future projects to address trail gaps and maintenance as well as recently completed projects. She will explain where to go to find trail resources for trip planning and define trail terms, such as tow-path, rail trail and the difference between “Open and Improved”, “Unimproved” and “Future” sections of trail.
*How can I get more involved? Imogen Wirth-Granlund, Program Coordinator, will lead the discussion about trail programs at the DLNHC and highlight how you can get more involved in Trail Patrol, Trail Tenders, Get Your Tail on the Trail and Trail Towns programs.
*How does the DLNHC support regional conservation efforts? Brit Kondravy, Conservation Coordinator, will discuss Lehigh Valley Greenways, THE LINK Trail Network and provide an example of a Lehigh Valley Greenways mini-grant project that supports water quality.
*We want to hear from you! Mandy Tolino, Director of Trails and Conservation, will provide an example of how you can elevate the message of the DLNHC through a postcard campaign, following us on social media, and becoming a member of the DLNHC. Mandy will wrap up the program with a Q&A session.
