The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor offers a fleet of resources to make the most of your time on the D&L Trail. If you’ve ever wondered where to camp near the trail or you don’t even know what bikecamping is, we have tools for you. Below, explore those resources.
On March 4, 2021, our Director of Trails & Conservation gave a crash course on our trip planning tools. Plus, he answers some of trail users’ most frequently asked questions. This video provides an overview of our most up to date tools and where to find it. In this session, we also gave a first look of our D&L Trail Guidebook.
Next week, the first-ever D&L Trail Guidebook ships out to those who pre-ordered. This 120-page book covers every mile of the D&L Trail, even future connections. A marriage between outdoor recreation and historic preservation, this book highlights history and fun as it lives along the Corridor. There’s still time to order your copy! Available digitally and in print, don’t miss out on this one stop resource to the D&L.
Our team works tirelessly to develop the most extensive and accurate maps to guide your exploration of the D&L Trail. It’s our pride to share them with trail users. Our maps are broken down into our three regions– Anthracite, Lehigh Valley, and Delaware Canal. If you’d like to plan request print copies of our maps, reach out to us via our contact form to have them mailed directly to you. Don’t need them in print? Download our digital pdfs or use our interactive web map.
More of a history buff than a long distance rider? We’ve got the perfect resource for you. Our D&L Discoverer app offers geo-located history tours that highlight history right along the trail. This pocket historian will alert you to historic sites and narrate the Corridor’s history. Available now for Apple and Android, watch history come to life in the palm of your hands.
Sometimes you want to get on the trail and not have to map out your own route. We get that! Take a leisurely ride on the D&L with these predetermined routes. With our RidewithGPS guides and the BikeOut guides, all you need to do is show up on the trail. Our resources will take care of the rest.
