The D&L Trail has always been about connection — linking communities, honoring history, and creating spaces for recreation and renewal. This story begins in Carbon County, where the first complete section of the D&L Trail across our five-county corridor was finished. From that milestone, the trail has grown into a vibrant, living corridor.
On Thursday, September 18th, from 6:00–8:00 PM, join us at The Hofford Mill for a one-of-a-kind tasting experience: Trail of Flavor — a fundraiser supporting outdoor recreation, conservation, and community along the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.
Guests will enjoy exclusive sips, gourmet bites, and a celebration of the rich culture of the Anthracite Region — all for one prix fixe price. The menu is curated by Kate McEvilly and her team at The Gorge Eatery, a proud Trail-Friendly Business with DLNHC.
Featured bites include drunken shrimp with polenta cake (Pan-seared shrimp, Cajun tequila cream sauce, garlic ciabatta), hearty gumbo (V), crispy corn fritters (V), a classic clam po’ boy, comforting chicken and dumplings, and berry cobbler for dessert (V). (V = vegetarian)
To sip, choose from sweet tea, blueberry lemonade, or peach sangria, each available with or without a spirited twist.
Plus, your ticket automatically enters you for a chance to win an exclusive Anthracite Region Package — a celebration of local flavor, culture, and adventure!
These flavors remind us that food, like trails, brings people together. By joining us, you’re not just sharing a meal — you’re supporting the mission of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor to preserve history, promote wellness, and strengthen communities across the region.
We hope you’ll gather with us at Hofford Mill to celebrate the connections that make this Corridor so special. Let’s toast to good food, great community, and a night to remember along the trail!
