The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC) will be joining D&L Trail landowners North Catasauqua Borough and Northampton Borough, alongside project funders, legislators, and additional partners on September 26, 2022 at 2PM to celebrate the opening of a new, completed section of the D&L Trail from Northampton to North Catasauqua.
To watch it live on Facebook, visit our page here.
Speakers include: PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn, PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Director of Commonwealth Financing Authority Programs Division Gregory Welker, Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure, representatives from Northampton Borough, North Catasauqua Borough, and local legislators.
The Northampton to North Catasauqua section of D&L Trail opens an additional 1.5 miles of D&L Trail. This project connects North Catasauqua to the existing 60+ miles of D&L Trail running north to White Haven, Pennsylvania. Completion of the Northampton to North Catasauqua section compounds progress on the overall Lehigh Valley Gap which, when fully connected, will offer a 14-mile loop of multi-use trail between Northampton and Allentown.
This $1.48M project was made possible by the support and funding of Pennsylvania DCNR, Pennsylvania DCED, Northampton County, and D&L Trail users and supporters.
