Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC) is excited to once again offer funding in 2026 to support projects that create and strengthen a trail‑friendly atmosphere throughout the five‑county Corridor and along the D&L Trail. This year, $27,000 is available for events and amenities designed to enhance experiences for trail users and encourage more people to get outside and active.
Available reimbursement funds range from $2,000 for events and $5,000 for amenity projects, with matching funds required. Details about match requirements are available on the program website.
Since the program launched in 2018, DLNHC—together with partners and funders—has awarded more than $155,000 to trail‑focused projects. These investments have generated over $304,000 in economic impact across Corridor communities.
To date, 34 projects have received support, including:

These projects not only improve the trail itself but also strengthen the towns and businesses that surround it.
As we begin another year of funding, DLNHC encourages both new applicants and past recipients to apply. Eligible applicants include:
Funding decisions are made on a rolling basis until all dollars are allocated. Because of the program’s growing popularity—and the upcoming America 250th celebrations throughout the Corridor—we expect this year’s funding cycle to be more competitive.
Applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to your event or before your amenity installation begins. This grant program is intended to help partners launch new programs, upgrade trail‑related amenities, and bring new energy to the Corridor—not to provide recurring year‑to‑year funding for the same project.
If you’re planning to apply for a project that has been funded previously, be sure your proposal includes new elements. These can include highlighting the D&L Trail, your trail town, or trail‑friendly businesses in your community.
The first step is to visit the D&L Trail Town Amenity and Event Projects webpage, where you’ll find full program details and application forms.
