D&L TRAIL TENDERS – 2025 EVENT CALENDAR
Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC) coordinates with regional partners and landowners to host public volunteer events, April through October. Join the D&L Trail Tenders crew by registering as a DLNHC volunteer online and get seasonal email updates about opportunities to steward the D&L Trail. For all D&L Trail Tenders events, bring your own water bottle, dress appropriately for weather and trail conditions, and wear comfortable, closed-toe footwear.

D&L Trail Tender and East Penn Township
East Penn Township’s Riverview Park
For Celebrate Trails Day, join DLNHC at the Boat Launch in Riverview Park in East Penn Township to cleanup the D&L Trail. Together, we’ll remove litter and clear vegetation along the trail heading south towards Lehigh Gap Nature Center.

D&L Trail Tender and Anthracite Scenic Trails Association (ASTA)
Middleburg Road Trailhead
Join DLNHC and ASTA at the Middleburg Road access point to cleanup the D&L Trail. We’ll pick up trash and trim vegetation along the trail from Middleburg Road north to the first bridge. Please note parking is limited at Middleburg Road – if you’d prefer to bike in, it’s half a mile north of the White Haven North Trailhead.

D&L Trail Tender and Lehigh Canal Recreation Commission (LCRC)
Weissport Trailhead
Join DLNHC and LCRC to help with multiple maintenance activities along the D&L Trail and Lehigh Canal. 2 miles north of the Weissport Trailhead you’ll remove vegetation from Lock 5, help repair a wooden bridge over the lock and pick up trash around the site and along the trail. Transportation from the trailhead to the lock will be provided, or you can walk/bike and meet us there.

D&L Trail Tender and Lehigh Gorge State Park (LGSP)
Glen Onoko Trailhead
Join DLNHC and LGSP to clean the turntable right off the trail near the Nesquehoning Bridge. We’ll take a short walk from the trailhead to the turntable, where we’ll remove invasive species and litter to make it accessible to park visitors.
